ElkY wins golden bracelet and completes triple crown

Cross another big-time poker pro off of the list of “Best poker player without a bracelet” as Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspellier took home his first WSOP bracelet in the $10k Seven-Card-Stud Championship at the 2011 World Series of Poker. In the process ElkY became the fourth member of poker’s Triple Crown club, joining Gavin Griffin, Roland de Wolfe, and Jake Cody (who completed the Triple Crown earlier in the 2011 WSOP) in the very exclusive club.

Jake Cody wins event #2: $25k Heads Up Championship

Cody, who already had WPT and EPT titles, won the WSOP Event #2: $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship after outlasting WCOOP 2009 Main Event winner Yevgeniy “Jovial Gent” Timoshenko in the heads-up play.

With the win, Cody’s winnings from live tournaments are now nearing the $3M mark.

Gus Hansen finished instead in 3rd place, and was not able to win his second WSOP gold bracelet.

Isildur1 destroys Kidpoker in the SuperStar Showdown

Isildur1 only needed 1439 hands to win $150k from Daniel Negreanu in the SuperStar Showdown. We watched most of the game but Kidpoker wasn’t in great shape, he posted this on twitter: “RealKidPoker: This has been pretty disgusting so far. Can’t imagine running any worse.” and “RealKidPoker: That was pretty frustrating. Lost the match in 1439 hands. In 20k + pots he beat me 12-2 and I ran 44k under par in all in pots again.”
