WSOP 2009 structure changed

March 17, 2009 | Published in: Poker news

The World Series Of Poker 2009 will have some major changes in benifet of the players. Where in 2008 you recieved the double amount of your buy-in ($1500 – 3000 chips) you will recieve the triple amount this year,, so 4500 chips in the example.

Second of all the tournement structure has been changed so players get more “poker” for there money. Jack Effel, tournement director, sais

“You’ll feel that in the beginning. It gives players more of an oppertunity to make moves and usestrategy. It’s going to benefit both the little guy who won his way in and it’s also going to benefit the pros, who haveadditional time to perfect their game.”

This year won’t include rebuy tournements accept the Pot Limit Omaha tournements (with their addon). Furthermore disbehavior will noted during the WSOP. So disbehavoir in event 1 could have consequences for event 4.

TexasLimitKing superuseraccount?

March 7, 2009 | Published in: Poker news

“TexasLimitKing” became an wellknown figure on Full Tilt Poker. He came out of nowhere to play some of the best limit hold’em players in the world at the high stakes tables. He played against Phil Ivey, Dustin “Neverwin” Woolf and David Benyamine in the $1000/$2000 Limit Hold’em games on Full Tilt Poker, and did very well for himself. He kept millions of dollars on the site before he suddenly disappeared.

This all took place between the summer 2006 and early 2007. After a very suspectfull hand with Dustin “Neverwin” Woolf (on a Q 2 6 Q 6 board TexasLimitKing called a $1000 bet by Dustin with 44 against the 33 by Dustin).

Chatsession of the hand:

eastsideslim: wtf
eastsideslim: u can only beat one hand
eastsideslim: how can u call with 44
eastsideslim: board QQ662
eastsideslim: i have 33
eastsideslim: i dont like that
eastsideslim: something not right
TexasLimitKing: just continue
eastsideslim: how can u call with 44
TexasLimitKing: im not g oing to tell u how i play
poker or read u
eastsideslim: im done
eastsideslim: u made a lot of good reads
eastsideslim: but thats just impossible
TexasLimitKing: apparently not
eastsideslim: only 1 hand u can beat
TexasLimitKing: yes
eastsideslim: not 22
eastsideslim: 2,3 or 33
eastsideslim: curisity call or misclick is misreading
the board is only possibility
TexasLimitKing: no comment

TexasLimitKing turns out to be Alexandros “Alex” Dalaklis, a professional pokerplayer from Greece. The reason of his sudden disappearance:
“”TexasLimitKing” continued to play on Full Tilt from the summer of ’06 up until Christmas 2006. He stopped because “there wasn’t anymore resistance left.” People had figured out how good he was and decided that they wouldn’t try to play him anymore. According to Dalaklis, he tried playing No Limit Hold’em but quickly grew tired of poker in general. He didn’t want to play at lower limits, so he simply grew bored and quit the game altogether.”

Some people think Full Tilt found out this incident before Dustin made a report of this and let Alex keep his money but forcing him to never play at Full Tilt Poker again..

I’m sure to be continued..
