Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis defeats Elky in kickboxmatch

November 23, 2011 | Published in: Poker news

After 2 years Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis and Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspleiller finally met eachother in the ring in Marbella.

Lex blogged how it all started:
“During EPT Barcelona in 2009 me and Elky were both hanging out outside at the hotel terrace. He was drinking with some friends and I was playing online with some friends. He was very rowdy and I told him to stop running around and knock shit over. He told me to stfu and I told him to watch himself. Like true guido’s we didn’t back down, even when we jokingly told each other to zip it or take a beatdown. Elky then said: ‘You can’t defeat me, I’m Elky.’ This of course made me laugh and I asked him if he really thought he could fight. He had some training for a bet with Sorel and he was convinced he was a powernerd. Everything was in good spirits still, but I thought it was a good moment to seize and challenge him to a fight.”

Rules:
• 5 rounds of 3 minutes. We realize this is ridiculously long for beginners, but we had a reason for it.
• You only win the fight if you get KO’d or TKO’d, or if someone gives up. When we both stand at the end of 5 rounds the bet is wash. We chose to do it this way because if you work with scoring points, one of us might feel a bit unhappy with the ruling. This way you circumvent this.
• Kicks are allowed to every part of the body except the groin.
• No elbows
• Knees to the face and the rest of the body (except the groin) are allowed. Clinch knees (holding someone’s head and repeatedly kneeing it) are not allowed.
• If you get counted down 3 times in 1 round you lose.
• If you get counted down for the 4th time in the match you lose.
• No headbutts, punched to the back of the head.
• Spinnings kicks/punches as well as sweeps are allowed.
