PKR Terminator tournaments
May 24, 2009 | Published in: Poker room news
Personally I like the Terminator tournements at PKR but almost every time I play one there are at least 5 people asking how it works. So i thought it was time to write a post about these PKR tournements.
What are terminator tournaments?
With a portion of the prize pool going to a bounty on every player’s head, Terminator tournaments are all about taking the other player down. A portion of the prize pool goes on to every player’s head. If you take that player out of the tournament, their bounty is yours. The value of each player’s bounty is displayed on the table above their username. The more bounties you claim, the higher your bounty gets too – so you become a more attractive target.
Full information on the set up of each Terminator tournament can be found in the in the ‘bounty info’ tab for the tournament. There you’ll see information including the number of heads each player has eliminated, the total prize amount claimed from bounties and each player’s existing bounty value.
Full or half buy-in on your head
There are 2 types of terminator tournements at PKR: one where 100% of your buy-in is on your head and one where it’s 50% and the other 50% goes to a prize pool.
You can play the normal Terminator tournements (with the 50%/50% deal mentioned above), the headsup tournements (Terminator Two, 100% buy-in on your head) or the Terminator Xtreme (Sit & go, 10 players and the 50%/50% deal).

WSOP tournement of Champions
May 23, 2009 | Published in: Poker news
On May 31th & June 1st old WSOP main event winners will battle for the WSOP tournement of Champions title. One to watch: Russ Hamilton will probably join this tournement and not everybody is happy with that. Russ is suspected of haveing a superuser account on UltimateBet and AbsolutePoker.
Doyle Brunson: “Russ Hamilton is caught between a rock and a hard place. Russ is accused of being the mastermind behind the cheating scandal at UB. The evidence looks like Russ is guilty but I’ve learned to wait for the verdict to be handed down. If Russ shows up, he is going to take lots of abuse from angry poker players, and if he doesn’t show, every will say, “See there, he is admitting he is guilty.” My guess is he will be there.”
Last years WSOP main event winner Peter Eastgate thinks he has a lot of changes winning this title: “I should be one of the strongest players as I have emerged from the second biggest field. However, you can’t disregard the champions like Doyle Brunson, Huck Seed and Phil Hellmuth, who have proven to stay on top ever since they won their championships.”
